Description of the problem	After fuel fill up or in normal operation i have erratic and inaccurate fuel gauge reading. At first the gauge wouldn't read any fuel level and after running the self test would operate normally. The gauge appeared to be working, but during a ride it stopped functioning and i ran out of fuel not knowing how much fuel i had. I was able disengage the engine and coast to clear traffic. The errors first occurred about april 2009 and would reappear infrequently. Since going dead and running out of fuel in march 2010, it will occur at every fill up and i've noticed that the gauge stops working with about the 20% -25% fuel remaining. I use the odometer to determine fill interval since the gauge in not reliable. After a fill up it may read empty, full or approximately 3/4 of a tank. I have not tried having the dealer repair the problem. The vehicle is out of warranty and information available indicates that replacing the parts is only a temporary fix.
